The New Traffic Laws: Penalty for Having Tinted Windows

300 EGP fine for not having a fire extinguisher in the car

A new traffic law has been approved by the Egyptian Council of Ministers recently. The new law imposes many fines for breaking the traffic law. Join Faydety as we find out more

 

Some of the penalties and fines imposed by the new traffic law:

 

  • Not following the police officers instructions: fine between 100 to 500 EGP
  • Exceeding the speed limit or driving without brakes: fine between 300 to 1500 EGP
  • Driving against traffic: 5000 EGP instead of 1000 EGP
  • Driving with an expired or revoked driver’s license: fine between 1000 to 3000 EGP
  • Using a radar detection device or devices that affect radars: fine between 1000 to 3000 EGP
  • If the car emits bad odours: fine between 500 to  1500 EGP

  • DUI: one year jail time and a fine between 4000 to 8000 EGP
  • Committing an indecent act in public or attacking a traffic police officer: 300 to 1500 EGP
  • Ignoring injured passengers/drivers in need of assistance: 100 EGP
