How Can You Make Money On Social Media?

Five things that can help you make money on social media

At first social media websites were only for communication or staying in touch with relatives and friends but with time their role evolved from just communication apps/sites to having a role in marketing and advertising.

Now social media can make or break a business, they can affect how successful a product is, and they were also responsible for the emergence of several new jobs.

Hootsuite statistics show that 59.5 million Egyptians used the Internet in 2021, that’s more than half the population!

1- Blog about your hobby

If you love writing or have the talent for it you can always be a Blogger. Choose a topic you are passionate about like food, books, travel, etc and blog about it. You can also review products or services and blog about them.

You will need an account on several social media sites/apps to have more exposure. As time passes and you get more followers companies or people will ask you to review or market their products/services for a fee of course.

Another method would be vlogging. Vloggers are predominantly on YouTube and they make more money from the advertisements YouTube put in their videos once they hit 1000 subscribers and 40,000 views.

2- Are you good with your hands?

If you like to make handmade products then you have a good chance of success on social media. For example if you love to create jewelry, accessories, leather products, etc all you would need to do is calculate your expenses plus the cost of workmanship then add your profit according to the market price of your chosen field. Next step is to sell your product via your social media pages.

3- Do you like to travel?

If you love to travel and know a lot of tips and secret sites to visit then don’t miss this opportunity to write all about it on social media. You can start with a Facebook page for travel tips or even become a travel agent/organizer. You will of course need to have more followers and advertise a bit on Facebook but that can be done by sharing your experience and travel photos

4- Are you a good salesperson?

This is a very good skill to have. Partner with importers or distributors of products, buy in bulk and sell on social media. Don’t forget that your prices should match your target consumers’ abilities

Make sure the product quality is good so that your consumer base stays loyal and keep buying from you in the future. To do this you will need a Facebook page or group and ask your friends to add people they know in order to increase your exposure

5- Marketplace!

In 2016 Facebook launched a new feature called “The Marketplace”. It allows anyone to sell their products or any item they have and don’t want anymore such as used clothes, phones, furniture, etc to other Facebook users

You need to have a Facebook account, go to marketplace and upload the picture and details of the item you wish to sell. Adding prices is a good idea since many people like to know the price beforehandas they browse.
